Video. This is all subjective. This is what I've come to in my own travels through life, but I know this is just my own perspective.

So I feel I often get a tone of authority when I talk about something I'm passionate about, or something I think I've figured out. But I don't have any answers (I'd argue I have none). I observe. I experience. And I process. We all do.

I've been seeing lately how much...people get hurt when their heroes fail them. Or worse how they hurt others and themselves when they blindly follow their heroes. We could talk about John Lennon, we could talk about Bill Cosby, we could talk about JK Rowling, we could talk about the idolization of politicians (Hell, as much as I like Lincoln, I think he had major missteps-but what would I have done?)...

What I've come to realize, is that admiration of accomplishments and people shouldn't mean we put them on a pedestal. Gandhi accomplished amazing feats, but he was human and as such yes, he also did some awful things which are inexcusable...but that's the thing, isn't it? People can do amazing things, but we're all limited by our own...beliefs and actions and perspectives.

I want to stop idealizing the past and my heroes. I appreciate what they gave me, and what they have inspired, but I want to ASPIRE to be better than them in my own way, if I can. I don't want to live in another's shadow, nor do I want to cast my own shadow on others. I also know, from the get go, I will try and fail...but I will keep trying until I can try no more. If you fail, you only lose if you give up, right? I think my philosophies—which ARE parts of Dark Horse—have moved to trying to do the least amount of harm as possible XD

That's all any individual can do.

Uh...sorry for this big long comment on a video that is not why people come to this comic o_O

I've been super busy, with a lot on my mind, and since I've had this buffer I feel I haven't been talking much. The NSFW Zine comes out NEXT WEEK! So I'll have more time, and I'm gonna be stoked to share that with you all!!! Everyone's submissions are fucking top notch. I honestly am incredibly impressed with it! I may just move next week's post to Wednesday so you can see it when it comes out!!!

If you read this babble, thanks! If you didn't read this babble, thanks! XD

If that resonates with your experience, groovie. If it doesn't, that's great! We all have our own takes on things.

At long last! I *think* this nearly marks the 1/2 point in the first series :D It is, at least, going to be the "second act" as they say :3

3... 2... 1... I WANT TO GO BACK panic :D
Good spot though. Not in the middle of a dragon's nest, nor inside a magical man eating plant.

XD We'll find out soon enough where they are. The sequoias are a hint, but that's a few pages later ;)
