12-29-20 Edit: I fixed "lieutenant" to read "lenient" as it was intended. Thanks go to Marcel for catching that typo!! Don't rely on spell check alone people :D

Happy Friday the 13th!

It's interesting being a "softie" in this household is letting your kid hang out with her friend o_O

(Legit, my best friend growing up had parents like this, only the Chases are in a higher income bracket. They were okay to me—the people the parents are based on—but man...they were strict. Difference here is they have seven kids, while Kanna's mom/dad had trouble conceiving. Hence smaller family, as they would not use birth control. TMI?)

The circle is also a very obscure reference to the cartoon Family Circle, which is I guess no secret by a Catholic creator, and always reminded me of my friend (though their family was very different, mostly the humor was similar).

This week's video is Dark Horse related...eventually. I talk a bit about more literature crap, and then I talk a little about Yulie's plant powers. Not much.

I'm not sure I get the Lieutenant Sharon reference. Is that from Battlestar Galactica?

Mom waits for a decision but Mom asks in the first place because it is going to be favorable. Old-school parents, lmao. Only misses the after homework part :D

Just wanted to point out that I really appreciate the little panel with the dad and the heart. It would be really easy to just go “he’s a strict dad. That’s it.” But that panel, as small as it is, humanizes him a little bit, and shows that there is some love and connection between the mom and dad.

Thank you! I try very hard not to demonize her family (even if they have a completely different view on life and family than I would).
