12-29-20 Typo fixed. And I removed Rin's face. It was out of place, and in my opinion not achieving it's purpose. So it's gone!

Grr...I see a typo. I will fix later XD

I was in a hurry to get this page done in one I decided to have to draw a million, billion, trillion lines! Smart, Blue, Smart XD XD If you can't tell, I've been really, really trying hard to use more ink techniques for this comic (which is more evident in the redone pages that are finally up here on CF). I don't think I'll do many washes, because I do still like screen tones, but I am trying to put more time and effort into pages and how they look.

I know the rule where you don't flip the direction of the character, but I chose to flip her to look left for a reason. Kanna is thinking back to the past (which is for some reason signified by looking to the left, while moving forward is usually moving left to right). But we're seeing her thinking back to earlier that day, and thinking of Rhina (which...I should have faded lines out! I will have to do that when I move on to editing for the print version.

Can I just say how incredibly happy I am with this page? I know I bitch a lot about my pages, so when I'm happy with something, I like to express that.

Phew! These last two weeks have been hardcore. I have been working on this, and The Whimper in the Dark, and the Halloween Crossover Exchange (which, I submitted WinD for, and which if you read it, their story continues IN the Halloween Exchange). I have also been working on stuff for the Comic Fury Zine (getting layout ready) for December. Stay tuned for more on the release of the next Zine ;3

I am finally caught up with most of my projects (other than the November WinD post...which is only going to be 3 images). Act 3 of Dark Horse will soon be available in .pdf (if anyone's interested, just mentioning it). We aren't printing it this year, since I'm not attending any conventions, and my partner is gearing up to look for some contract work :3 I figured no sense in printing if I'm not going to conventions.

All that babble is just some updates I thought I'd share :3 This year has been so hectic, and roller-coaster-y, and I'm just...very fatigued. But it's going to get better. We're going to get through this, and we'll be stronger for having done so. Please be kind to each other, understanding, and patient.

It's the October Q & A! This time, it's all about Dark Horse. Next week I'm doing one more WinD video with Jack Dog, just to round out the Halloween theme and to get a chance to shout out the Halloween Exchange :3

When her reality changed so much in a matter of moments that suddenly everything seems unreal and you can only trust what the friend nearby also experienced :/

So true! I can't imagine what it'd be like to try to convince my parents of something like this XD (Mom would probably believe. Pretty sure Dad would just laugh o_O)

guess we're gonna find out whether the parents are tolerant of her friendship with Rhina...

Yep. They have a lot of thoughts...they may not express them all.

Geez, the fact she has to approach it so carefully tells you enough on its own. I’m really loving the beginning of this chapter. You would think that compared to all the other fantastical shit that stuff like this would fall flat, but as time has gone on and I’ve seen a whole bunch of media, it’s usually these smaller moments that hit hard and really define some of these characters. Because no matter what, how powerful you are, what special abilities you get, or even your destiny, you grew up in some sort of way and were partially defined by the parents or guardians or other people you were surrounded with. And those people already have preconceived notions of who you are and what you are supposed to be like.

Kind of shocked how much I got into this, but these are very human moments. I guess that was the point I was trying to make.

😭Thank you so much for your kind comment!

I really wanted to work hard to portray her family situation slowly, so we can better understand the pressures leading up to her possession. It will come up a little more in the future, but Kanna's older brother died about a year before these events (I'd have to check the exact dates), and her family is fairly strict anyway. They aren't necessarily "bad," but the dynamic is incredibly different from Rin's upbringing (which we see in more of in the latest chapter).
