I know I used too many stock backgrounds...but I just wasn't sure what to do with the backgrounds...which means I should have planned this out more, and thought more about the background...

That and, truth be told, I am breaking in a new nib, and it's being a bit of a bitch, so...I may change up some of those by the time I get to editing pages.

Anyway: magic!

Whelp, counted page numbers, thought about themes and where the story is at, and having just completed The Crystal Lotus, I figure Oposition is a good place to begin Volume 2 of Dark Horse. I work on inking the cover in this video and talking about the various visual elements.

Not the most interesting video, but there you have it XD

Love seeing Rin just messing around with bubbles, especially in that last pan there. Also did a really great job with Kanna’s expression in the first panel. You can just imagine the tone she’s using with that expression, it’s great!

Thank you so much! I have been trying to be better with expressions and exaggerate things a bit more XD

I totally agree with jmluvsbob except that I think that checkerboard in panel one's background just doesn't work.
I'm thinking something more woodsy before the magic starts.
I hope you find my advice useful even though I really don't know what I'm talking about! :D

Dude, your suggestions are super helpful! I appreciate them :D When I come back to edit these, I read up on what people have commented, and I take that into consideration.

I like the nature suggestion, since that makes sense for keeping us tied to the setting! I wasn't sure what to do, so I think that's a good idea.

Yeah, should work on those magic powers, lmao.
I do not know if conventional weapons even reliably work on magical beings. Sometimes not...

Perfect practice makes perfect XD XD

Yeah, I would guess it depends on the being. I think some could be slain with regular weapons, but...yeah the higher caliber beings are gonna take magic over muscle :3

I am still not convinced a giant dagron would be so easily taken out by a metal tooth pick -_-
